A veteran, Melvin, age 60, had to quit his post office job due to a degenerative health condition and was homeless for four years. Because we were able to provide a security deposit and one month’s rent, this month he was able to move into his own apartment.
Tanya, 44, successfully applied for the Homeless Prevention Rapid Rehousing program which is securing her rent is for several months until she resumes her job this fall with the Chicago Public School system. Thus she will be spared from becoming homeless.
